Future Hope India (India)

At the end of 2010, the Saint-Gobain Foundation was presented with a project run by the nonprofit Future Hope, which looks after abandoned children in the streets of Kolkata (India). The project was run by its sponsor Tuhin Chaudhuri, who worked for the Innovative Materials Sector in India. This initiative aimed to transform part of the village of Barrackpore, in the Kolkata suburbs, into a center for teaching building trades in order to help young adults integrate into society. Training shops in the various trades were built and a range of renovation and refurbishment work in the village was conducted by the young people undergoing training.

The Foundation provided this project with funding of €220,000.
